Positioning Application, GSS9000: What does the message "Warning: could not decode engine protobuf stream" mean?
Environment/Versions
PosApp (SimGEN), v5-01 or later

Answer
It relates to the decoding of the protobuffer messages between the GUI/Engine
It could happen if the GUI and engine versions being used are out of sync with respect to their build increment
e.g. they were built from different release candidates
If you are uncertain if you have a valid combination of GUI+Engine, please contact Spirent Global Services
Use the "Submit a Service Request" link on the right-hand side of the Knowledge Base screen
Confirm the model and serial number of your simulator equipment
Confirm the GUI + Engine versions that are installed by referring to PosApp menu [Help-->About]
