• We can use Parameters in an Open Step to start the session / device by following below steps: 

1. The Parameter Value in Testbed File should be same as Device Name.
    
2. In Open step description we need to give device:[ ]. Inside [ ] we need to insert the Parameter created in Step 1.
    
3. We need to enable the Field Substitution for Open Step under Step Properties --> General --> Command --> For the Command field, perform command, variable and backslash substitutions.
    
4. We need to give a default session for the procedure under Procedure Properties --> General --> Default Session.
