Wireless SC10: Controller PC image can not boot up, how to resolve?

Apply to all the test system with SC10 installed.

 

Answer

After power on SC10, we need click "Run" button to boot up a certain system. Sometime the Windows Server 2003 GUI will pop up for a few seconds and then disappear. In Linux - Virtual Machine Manager application, there is only SR3620 and SR3920, but Controller PC image disappears.

This issue is caused by display, try below solutions to resolve it:

  1. Use a wide-screen monitor which supports 1920 x 1080 display resolution and set resolution to 1920 x 1080. In official document, SC10 works with Dell U2212HM monitor model.

 

  1. If don't have such kind of wide-screen monitor, try modify VirtualSystem.xml (stored in /mnt/spirent/PAW/Virtual Systems/) as below:

Find ControllerPCDisplayMode node, and change:

<ControllerPCDisplayMode>Full Screen</ControllerPCDisplayMode> to <ControllerPCDisplayMode>Window</ControllerPCDisplayMode>

 

Note:

Wide-screen monitor supports both Full Screen mode and Window mode.

Normal monitor only supports Window mode, and Controller PC image may not start up if use Full Screen mode.
