GNSS Positioning Simulator: At which point during an STR47xx power calibration is the DACS value actually stored?

Environment/Versions
  • STR4730 / 4750 / 4760 / 4780 / 4790
Answer

DCS0002C section 3.5 defines the STR4760 power calibration procedure.

  • At step (c) of this procedure, each time you send a DACS command, the new DAC information is stored directly
    • If you turned the channel off and back on again it would use the last DACS value you sent
  • You only program the DACS value for the first channel in each bank
  • An automated utility called "DACT Utility" is then used to program the DACS value for all other channels
    • So DACS values are only stored for all channels after this utility has been run
