Spirent TestCenter: For RFC tests, how am I notified if one of the ports is offline or down and will the test still run?

Answer

In TestCenter, for RFC test, how am I notified if one of the ports is offline or down and will the test still run?

If the port that has the wrong phy configured and is not up or is down for any reason, the test will still run on the other ports and you will see the following Log message:

8/27/2012 10:56:19 .6     Warning               Other    Links are down on port(s)
                port //XX.XX.XX.XX/XX/XX
                ( 1 port(s) )
A possible cause is switching phy modes while traffic is running.
Make sure to stop traffic before switching phy modes.

If the port is offline, the test will still run, and any streamblocks associated with that port will obviously not run and a Log message will be displayed for the online port:

8/27/2012 11:07:54 .7     Info        Other    No applied stream block on port port //XX.XX.XX.XX/XX/XX. Skip starting it.

8/27/2012 11:09:19 .9     Info        Other    No applied stream block on port port //XX.XX.XX.XX/XX/XX. Skip stopping it.
